“We are meaning-seeking creatures. Biologically, our nervous systems are organized in such a way
that the brain automatically clusters incoming stimuli into configurations.
Meaning also provides a sense of mastery.”– Irvin D. Yalom, Existential Psychiatrist
There’s an elephant in the room
One that’s been virtually invisible to most of us
And it’s been weighing us down for a very long time
In fact, potentially since we learned to communicate with one another
Our brains need help
The tools we have developed
To make our lives easier
Are in fact subtly making them even more difficult
Despite our best intentions
We have been complicating ourselves even further and further
To the point that we are all rendered
Divided
Powerless
Incapable
And Defenseless
In a word
Dehumanized
Our brains need help
But what if there’s a way for each of us to own and control a digital brain?
A digital brain that can coordinate all our apps and devices
Our digital sense and motor organs
A layer of abstraction, if you will
That we can use to shield ourselves from the complexities of technology
And thereby manage and work more efficiently and effectively
Our notes, our health, our activities, our behavior
All our interactions and communications
All events, memorized directly and controlled centrally
Powered by a universal language
Whose syntax and design are based on time-proven biological neural networks
It can therefore enable unprecedented flexibility and efficiency
Unconstrained by rigid, fixed, and monolithic
Artificial data models, code, and architectures
It will be free to be adapted or grown
Influenced or updated
Connected or shared
Relocated or secured
Rolled-back or reset
Solely by its owners
Personal digital brains
That can serve as extensions to our biological brains
The good news is
None of this is science fiction
Latest findings in neuroscience
linguistics
psychology
And information technology
All point in the same direction
That all of this is possible
And that all we need to realize the full potential of this project
Is a community that can grow this new technology
With openness and organic collaboration
And therefore most importantly
All of Us
Let us see the future
